Urinary tract infections treatment
We now treat uncomplicated Urinary tract infections in non-pregnant women (aged between 18-65 years of age ) with an appropriate antibiotic after a consultation with our accredited pharmacist. Prescription charges apply. First line treatment is Nitrofurantoin for 3 days , second line treatment is Trimethoprim for 3 days if there is a known allergy to Nitrofurantoin.
The service excludes men , patients not registered with a Liverpool doctor and more than one infection within 3 months .
