CryoPen is a precision treatment used to remove benign skin lesions safely and accurately. It delivers a fine, high-pressure jet of nitrous oxide directly onto the lesion, freezing it at extremely low temperatures.
This destroys the unwanted tissue without affecting the healthy skin around it. The accuracy is what sets it apart from older cryotherapy methods.
It is quick, well-tolerated, and suitable for use on the face and other delicate areas where precision matters most.
Skin tags are harmless but can be uncomfortable or affect your confidence. CryoPen removes them quickly, with no cutting or stitches required.
Stubborn warts and verrucas that have not responded to pharmacy products are good candidates for CryoPen. Most clear with one to two sessions.
Milia are small white cysts that sit just under the skin. They are common around the eyes and cheeks and respond well to CryoPen's precision tip.
Cherry angiomas are benign red spots caused by clusters of blood vessels near the skin's surface. CryoPen targets them accurately without damaging surrounding tissue.
Flat, pigmented patches caused by years of sun exposure can be treated effectively. CryoPen is particularly useful for spots on the hands and face.
These rough, raised, waxy patches become more common with age. CryoPen destroys the tissue cleanly, and healing is typically straightforward.
Not sure what your lesion is? We examine it at your consultation before any treatment takes place. We do not treat anything diagnostically uncertain.
Book online, by phone, or in person. We offer appointments most days from our Orrell Park pharmacy. A brief health questionnaire is completed at the time of booking.
We assess your lesion at your appointment to confirm it is suitable for CryoPen treatment. We check the size, location, and nature of the lesion before proceeding. If anything concerns us clinically, we will refer you rather than treat.
The CryoPen is held close to the lesion and applied for a few seconds. You may feel a brief cold or stinging sensation. That is it. Most appointments are done and dusted in under 15 minutes.
The treated area may look red or slightly swollen. This is normal and settles within a few hours.
The lesion typically darkens and forms a small scab. This falls away on its own over one to three weeks as new skin forms underneath.
Most patients find the healing process causes minimal disruption to daily life. We provide full aftercare guidance before you leave.
Most benign lesions respond fully to a single treatment. Larger or more stubborn lesions may need a second session, usually booked two to four weeks after the first.
We set clear expectations during your consultation so you know what to plan for. There are no open-ended treatment courses here.
Pricing is confirmed at your consultation once we have assessed the lesion. We do not charge a separate consultation fee when treatment goes ahead at the same appointment.
CryoPen is a clinically proven treatment used by healthcare professionals across the UK. When carried out correctly, it has a strong safety record and predictable outcomes.
Your safety comes before any treatment decision. Always.

EXCELLENT Based on 47 reviews Posted on Miss ElytraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The staff are always very helpful and give good advice. The lack of the fifth star is because they allow non service dogs. I was in there recently collecting my Epi-Pens and allergy prevention meds (one of my allergies being to dogs) and another custom brought a dog in and let it approach everyone. I don't think this is safe for those with allergies/phobias and it would be safer if only guide dogs (or other medical assistance dogs) were allowed in.Posted on GarryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a wonderful pharmacy this is ! I don’t live in the immediate area but I can always count on them to give me the best service possible. I was so pleased to see Diana again today as my b12 injection was well overdue in my own doctor’s surgery. Diana administered the injection with her usual calm demeanour and advised me as to when I should have it topped up. Thanks again Diana ! I would have no hesitation in recommending this pharmacy to anyone who needs advice and reassurance.Posted on Janet CreevyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So lucky to have this pharmacy on our doorstep. The boss Diana and staff are all kind and helpful. The best part, for those with busy lives is that you can pick up your prescription 24/7 from the cashpoint style dispensary. I put my prescription through to the doctor, and within a week I get a text to get me know its ready. You get a pin number to enter at the machine and hey presto, your medication is dispensed. This is ideal for those who can't make regular opening times, or just get there after closing. It saves standing around inside the pharmacy and mixing with people with coughs and colds. Ideal for me and my husband. Thanks for a great service for decades.Posted on Paul NationTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The staff are exceptional, and the pharmacists consistently offer help and guidance, making you feel comfortable. For vaccines or prescriptions, I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Recently, I received several travel vaccinations over a few weeks and wholeheartedly recommend Orrell Park Pharmacy.

Our pharmacy is in Orrell Park, making us one of the most accessible CryoPen clinics in North Liverpool. We see patients from across the city and surrounding areas.
If you find yourself uncertain about any details or have further enquiries, we encourage you to reach out to our team. We are committed to providing you with the necessary support and answers.
Most patients describe it as a brief sharp or cold sensation lasting a few seconds. Discomfort is minimal and passes quickly. No anaesthetic or numbing cream is usually needed.
Yes. CryoPen is particularly well-suited to facial lesions because of its precision. It treats the target tissue without affecting the surrounding skin, which matters on the face.
Over-the-counter kits use dimethyl ether at much higher temperatures and offer little control over depth or precision. CryoPen uses nitrous oxide at around minus 89 degrees Celsius, giving a far more targeted and effective result.
Treated lesions do not typically regrow. New skin tags can form in the same area over time, but the original lesion is permanently destroyed once treatment is successful.
No significant downtime. The area may be red or slightly tender for a day or two. Most patients return to normal activities straight away.
We do not treat moles with CryoPen. Moles require clinical assessment before any treatment, and some require removal by a dermatologist or surgeon. If you have a mole of concern, we will refer you appropriately.
We assess this during your consultation. You do not need to self-diagnose. Our clinician will examine the lesion and let you know whether CryoPen is the right option.
CryoPen can be used on younger patients for conditions like warts and verrucas. We assess suitability on a case-by-case basis. Parental consent is required for anyone under 16.
No special preparation is needed. Arrive with clean skin around the area to be treated. Avoid applying thick creams or makeup to the lesion on the day of your appointment.
The lesion will begin to change within a few days, typically darkening and scabbing before falling away over one to three weeks. Full healing can take up to four weeks for deeper or larger lesions.
