Are There Rabies in Europe? Risks and Essential Information for Travellers
Rabies does still exist in parts of Europe, but the risk to most travellers is very low. Western Europe, the
Winter often brings an increase in colds and flu, but you don’t have to be unprepared.
At Orrell Park Pharmacy, we provide quick, safe, and convenient flu vaccinations to help protect you and your family throughout the colder months.
Whether you’re eligible for a free NHS flu jab or need a private flu vaccination (currently not available) for just £25, our experienced pharmacists make the process simple. Appointments are fast, friendly, and usually completed in under 10–15 minutes.
Our clinical team has been supporting the Orrell Park community for over 20 years, delivering trusted healthcare to three generations of local families. When you visit us for your flu vaccine, you’ll receive professional guidance, a private consultation, and personalised advice based on your health needs.
We offer private flu vaccinations at a fixed price of £25. Thus, keeping the service affordable despite rising supplier costs and limited manufacturer options. (Like Seqirus as it’s expensive)
We provide the flu nasal spray free of charge for children aged 2–3 years as part of the programme.
For children and young people under 18, we offer the nasal spray as a private, vaccine-only service.
We check NHS eligibility at your appointment. If you qualify, there’s no charge. Private prices are competitive with other Liverpool pharmacies.
Please note, we do not offer private COVID-19 vaccinations.
Getting your flu or COVID jab takes minutes. Simple process, maximum protection.
Decide if you need the flu, COVID, or both. We’ll check NHS eligibility when you arrive.
Walk in during opening hours or book ahead online. Most days we can see you the same day.
Quick health check, then your jab. You’ll wait 15 minutes to check for reactions. Done.

Dianna was very pleasant and a great servicePosted on Google AlanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had large skin tag removed and I must admit I was concerned due to the size. All I can say is absolutely brilliant.Posted on Google Jessica RobertsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had an allergy blood test done here this morning and the staff were amazing. The pharmacist was great when I was feeling unwell and even got me a cup of tea. The allergy test is also great value for money compared to other private companies.Posted on Google Melissa O'BrienTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful. My whole family use this pharmacy and are greatful for the services and the team. Thank youPosted on Google Miss ElytraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The staff are always very helpful and give good advice. The lack of the fifth star is because they allow non service dogs. I was in there recently collecting my Epi-Pens and allergy prevention meds (one of my allergies being to dogs) and another custom brought a dog in and let it approach everyone. I don't think this is safe for those with allergies/phobias and it would be safer if only guide dogs (or other medical assistance dogs) were allowed in.Posted on Google GarryTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a wonderful pharmacy this is ! I don’t live in the immediate area but I can always count on them to give me the best service possible. I was so pleased to see Diana again today as my b12 injection was well overdue in my own doctor’s surgery. Diana administered the injection with her usual calm demeanour and advised me as to when I should have it topped up. Thanks again Diana ! I would have no hesitation in recommending this pharmacy to anyone who needs advice and reassurance.Posted on Google Janet CreevyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. So lucky to have this pharmacy on our doorstep. The boss Diana and staff are all kind and helpful. The best part, for those with busy lives is that you can pick up your prescription 24/7 from the cashpoint style dispensary. I put my prescription through to the doctor, and within a week I get a text to get me know its ready. You get a pin number to enter at the machine and hey presto, your medication is dispensed. This is ideal for those who can't make regular opening times, or just get there after closing. It saves standing around inside the pharmacy and mixing with people with coughs and colds. Ideal for me and my husband. Thanks for a great service for decades.

A private flu jab at Orrell Park Pharmacy costs £25 per person. This is ideal for people who are not eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine.
You may be eligible if you are aged 65 or over, pregnant, a carer, living with certain long-term medical conditions, or part of an at-risk group identified by the NHS.
Ages 2 to 3 are eligible for free vaccination under the NHS programme. For ages 4 to 17, the vaccine is available as a private, vaccine-only service if they do not qualify for the NHS programme.
September to early November is ideal. This gives you protection before flu season peaks in December and January. But it’s never too late. We vaccinate right through winter. Even getting jabbed in January helps if the flu hasn’t hit you yet.
Both options work. Walk-ins are welcome during all opening hours. Most days we can vaccinate you immediately. Booking online or by phone guarantees your slot if you prefer a specific time. Either way, the process is quick and simple.
